For adult women, the ideal body weight using the Hamwi method is 100 lbs (45.5 kg) for 5 feet tall, plus 5 lbs (2.3 kg) for every inch above 5 feet. A healthy BMI for women is the same as for men — 18.5 to 24.9 — though women naturally carry a higher percentage of body fat at any given BMI.
